The broken mind is a photographic piece that visually documents the human mind, focusing on the power it holds over the human body and the way we process reality. Studying a women suffering with Dementia, I have used photography to convey the displacement of the subject, her fragile mental state and the lack of control over the human mind. The understanding of the separation between reality and fantasy is questioned and impacts the way she perceives and processes life. It is the sense of losing ones self that sparked the need to start this photographic piece, looking into the mind in a visual sense but also neurological.
